Jan 19  SANTIAGO:  Early morning arrival with meeting and transfer to your hotel to relax and rest. Balance of day is at leisure to explore the charming capital city of Chile. B,D

Jan 20  SANTIAGO:  Your morning tour starts with a walking tour in the city center visiting the main square “Plaza de Armas”, Santiago’s Cathedral, boulevard Ahumada and the Government Palace “ La Moneda”. Then, we drive through the main avenues of the old Santiago, crossing bohemian Bellavista neighborhood to reach the San Cristobal Hill, for a magnificent panoramic view of the city and the Andes Mountain Range. Continue to the modern part of Santiago with its elegant neighborhoods, shopping and financial centers. The tour ends at the artisan village of “ Los Graneros del Alba”, where artisans at work can be seen, having plenty of time to walk around or do some shopping. B,D

Jan 21  SANTIAGO  /  PUERTO MONTT  /  PUERTO VARAS:  Transfer to the airport for your flight to the port city of Puerto Montt. Meeting and transfer to your hotel in the enchanting town of Puerto Varas. The town is located on the shores of Llanquihue Lake with a postal view of the magnificent Osorno Volcano. Afternoon visit of Puerto Varas touring its streets and avenues adorned with beautiful rose beds, the Philippi Hill and its splendid mirador offering beautiful panoramic views. Then the tour continues southwards to the city of Puerto Montt and fisherman’s cove known as Angelmó and the handicraft market located also in the area. Return to Puerto Varas for overnight. B,D

Jan 22  PUERTO VARAS  /  PEULLA:  Begin your lake crossing journey traveling along the crystalline waters of Lake Llanquihue to Petrohue Falls. Proceed then through the majestic Andes Mountains, enjoying the incredible scenery as you make your way across Lake Todos Los Santos to the Hosteria Peulla for overnight. B,D

Jan 23    PEULLA  / BARILOCHE:  Enjoy a full-day’s journey by bus and boat throughout the Chilean-Argentinean Lake Region. Cruise from Puerto Frias Lake up to Puerto Alegre, continuing by bus to Puerto Blest. Navigate then Nahuel-Huapi Lake before reaching charming Bariloche by bus during the last leg of your journey. Overnight in Bariloche. B,D

Jan 24    BARILOCHE:  Morning at leisure to enjoy the relaxing mountain scenery and explore on your own the town; often the area is compare to a Switzerland because of its alpine flavor. An afternoon short circuit excursion will take you to the Nahuel Huapi National Park to be amaze by the spectacular sights of pristine glacial lakes, rivers, gorges, dense forests and Andean peaks, in this idyllic alpine setting. Return to Bariloche for overnight. B,D

Jan 25    BARILOCHE  / BUENOS AIRES:  Transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina’s sophisticated capital often called the “Paris of South America” for its European style. Meeting and transfer to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure. B,D

Jan 26 (Sunday)  BUENOS AIRES:  Full day dedicated to the emblematic sites of the life of Pope Francis in Buenos Aires. We’ll tour the neighborhood and see the house where he was born, where he studied and the Church he was ordained as a Priest. We’ll visit San Ildefonso Church where he celebrated Mass on Sundays and attend the service at the Metropolitan Cathedral. B,D

Jan 27  BUENOS AIRES:  Your morning sightseeing includes Plaza de Mayo, the “Casa Rosada” Government House, the famous Colon Opera House and 9th of July Avenue, considered to be the world’s widest boulevard. Also tour Palermo and Recoleta with its renown Cemetery and the colorful Italian district of La Boca. Balance of day at leisure.  In the evening, enjoy a world-famous Argentine steak at a typical restaurant followed by an amazing Tango performance. B,D

Jan 28  BUENOS AIRES  / USA:  Morning at leisure for relaxing or some last-minute shopping. Afternoon transfer to the airport for your return flight to the USA. B,D

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Reservations and Payments: You can book your trip through your travel agent or at (800) 242-4122. Booking can be made online, by email, fax or regular mail. A deposit of $150 per person is required at the time of booking. Full and final payment is required no less than 45 days prior to tour departure. Bookings received less than 45 days prior to departure must be accompanied by full payment. Additional deposit conditions may apply for some special programs including airfares, special interest tours, cruises and group departures which will be advised at time of booking. Payment of a deposit and acceptance of any travel plan shall be deemed to constitute acceptance of all Terms and Conditions. Passenger(s) waive any charge back rights on credit card payments.

Cancellations: Full refund will be made for cancellations received up to 45 days before departure, except for a $50 administrative fee. Cancellations received within less than 45 days will be as follows: (days before departure) 44-22 days, (per person/per tour) 25%; 21-15 days, 35%; 14-7 days, 50%; 6-0 days, 100 %. No refund will be made for cancellations made once the tour or cruise starts, or for non-shows. Other conditions of cancellation may apply for some special programs such as adventure tours, cruises, or group departures which will be advised at time of booking. Above fees are in addition to airline ticket cancellation policies. Ask your travel agent for details. In addition to above cancellations and administrative fees, any charges assessed by the suppliers abroad will be deducted before refund is processed.

Land Refunds: All refund claims must be received by the booking agent in writing within 30 days after the completion of the tour. Requests received after that time will not be accepted. Refunds are made on the basis of actual cost of service not used and not on a per diem basis. Allow 4-6 weeks for refunds. Air refunds subject to the airlines own cancellation policy.

Passports and Visas: A valid passport is required of all passengers for travel to Europe and the Mediterranean. Depending on nationality, a visa may be required. Check with your local consulate for requirements. Passports and visas are the passengers’ responsibility.

Health requirements: Passengers should check with local consulates and health authority for latest health requirements. Check with your physician for recommendations.

Insurance: Altura Tours Inc. strongly recommends the purchase of travel insurance. Please consult your travel agent or Altura Tours for complete details.

Revisions: For changes made at the request of the traveler after reservations are confirmed, a $35 fee per transaction per person will be imposed. If documentation must be completely reissued, an additional $45 will be charged.Minimum booking: A minimum of 3 nights reservation is required. A $25 fee per person will be apply for bookings less than 3 nights.

Tour Rates Include: Airfare (where included). Hotel accommodations as specified in each program based on a room with twin beds. The cost per person is based on deluxe, first class, moderate or standard hotels. Triple room accommodations are by request only. Altura Tours Inc. reserves the right to substitute any hotel in same category. Some hotels are not air-conditioning. Transfers to and from airports, hotels, train stations and piers are included as specified in each program. Porterage of one normal size suitcase per person. Meals as indicated in each itinerary. All other meals are the passenger’s responsibility. All meals are based on table d’hote. Sightseeing by motorcoach, SIB (a seat in a bus) or private car, including services of multilingual guides and entrance fees according to itinerary selected. All other excursions are optional and are the responsibility of the passenger.

Rates Do Not Include: Airfare (unless specified otherwise). US and foreign departure taxes, passport and tourist cards, visas, inoculations, excess baggage charges, gratuities to local guides and tour managers, insurance, optional tours and items of personal nature such as telephone calls, soft and alcoholic beverages, etc. or any other item not mentioned as included.

Passports, Visas, Health: Passports, visas, tourist cards and inoculation certificates are the passenger’s responsibility. Please check visa and tourist card requirements before leaving the US; the same applies to health requirements in effect at the time of the tour. Altura Tours Inc. reserves the right to require a doctors written certification for any of its programs. Please consult your travel agent on all above at time of booking.

Preparation Costs: Planning, promotion and operation charges are included in all tour prices.

Luggage: Porterage of one normal suitcase per person is included in all tours.

Airline Baggage Regulation: Free baggage allowance is determined by each airline. The weight limit of 44lbs. (including carry-ons) may apply to flights outside the USA. Please contact each airline company on your itinerary for specifics. Excess luggage is the passenger’s responsibility. Altura Tours Inc. does not assume responsibility for loss or damage during the trip. Baggage insurance is available, please consult your travel agent or Altura Tours.

Airline Clause: The airlines concerned are not liable for any act, omission or event during the time passenger is not on board the aircraft. The passage contract in use by the airline, when issued, constitutes the sole agreement between it and the passenger. The services of any IATA/ARC member carriers or their affiliates may be used for the transportation of these tours. Neither Altura Tours Inc. nor the participating carriers assume any responsibility for errors or omissions in internet sites content and printing material. All airfares are subject to government approval and may change without notice.

Rates: Rates are per person based on double occupancy (2 passengers traveling together) and are quoted in US dollars. Rates are converted at international exchange rates applicable at time of printing. Rates are subject to change depending on the fluctuation of currencies and changes in tariffs. All rates, dates, inclusions and terms and conditions are subject to change without notice.

Responsibility: Altura Tours Inc. of Miami, Florida, its owners, employees and agents, act only in the capacity of agents for the passengers in all matters. All receipts, tickets, service vouchers, coupons or exchange orders are issued subject to the terms and conditions stated by the supplier. Altura Tours Inc. and/or its agents assume no responsibility whatsoever for loss, injury, accident or damage to person, property or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation, or other services resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, acts of terrorism and acts of government or other authorities de jure de facto, wars whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, dangers incident to the sea, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment strikes, riots, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, delay or cancellations, weather, changes in itinerary, schedules, or from any cause beyond the company’s control and neither the affiliate companies shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of the foregoing causes, Altura Tours Inc. reserves the right to substitute hotels in similar or superior category and will reserve the right to alter or modify the places to be visited. Altura Tours Inc. acting as agent between the individual supplier and the passenger is not responsible, nor liable for defaults of those not directly under our control. Acceptance of any travel plan shall be deemed to constitute acceptance of this limitation of Liability.
